As a single parent of children with disabilities….this is an uplifting and whole hearted story that they love every time I read it at bedtime. A must have!

Pretty in Purple is a heartwarming and magical story about Sophie, a young girl who receives an extraordinary gift on her seventh birthday—the ability to see auras and communicate with her spirit guide. At first, Sophie is dazzled by her new abilities, but she soon realizes they come with an important responsibility. When she notices the dark and troubled aura surrounding a mean girl at school, Sophie chooses to use her gift not to avoid or fear her, but to understand her pain and offer kindness.

This beautifully written story is both relatable and inspiring for young readers. Many children will see themselves in Sophie—curious, compassionate, and sometimes unsure of how to handle difficult social situations. The book does an excellent job of walking kids through the experience of facing a bully, not with fear or anger, but with empathy and insight. The illustrations in this story are lovely and colourful. The little animals are fun for kids to spot and the meaning of aura colours at the back of the book are an added bonus.

All three of my kids absolutely love this book! This beautiful story teaches kids about being kind and generous while also introducing the concepts of spirit guides and auras. My kids love reading through the aura glossary at the back and learning the meaning of each colour. The illustrations are also so vibrant and eye-catching. A truly beautiful book; highly recommend!
